By using the data link system (see the automobile industry section), which works with spiral bevel gear grinders and gear inspection machines, hypoid gear electrodes for precision-forging metal molds can be made easily.
When compared to electrodes, some errors of pressure angle, skew and size occur on precision forging gears, which were finally transferred from hypoid-gear electrodes made under the nominal data.
Confirm the gap of a precision-forge gear by comparing it with nominal data via a gear inspection machine. Then, re-process the gear by using KOMET to make it close to nominal data. By repeating this procedure, it is possible to make a precision forge gear with nominal tooth form data.
A hypoid-gear precision forge metal mold of a transportation machinery maker uses this method to make electrodes from solid processing (processing that uses grindstones on raw materials).
